ELITE series
In her new series, ELITE, Louise Leathers examines the violence inflicted by ICE and its dystopian partnership with the tech industry. The series takes its name from a tool used by ICE called "Enhanced Leads Identification and Targeting for Enforcement" (ELITE). Developed by Palantir Technologies, ELITE presents agents with a map much like the ones used in ordinary GPS apps, displaying potential "targets" alongside probability scores estimating the likelihood that a person is currently at a given location. The tool also lets agents pull personal data: names, birthdates, photos, and more, by aggregating information from government agencies and commercial databases, all in the service of mass deportation. In Leathers' hands, this Orwellian, gamified system takes on a menacing presence: pins closing in on the Innocents.

NSPM-7 series
In her new NSPM-7 series, Louise Leathers responds to National Security Presidential Memorandum #7, published by President Donald J. Trump on September 25, 2025. The memo which addresses "Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence," equates anti-fascists, as well as anyone who does not hold "traditional American views on family, religion, and morality," with domestic terrorists. In this series, Leathers desecrates religious figures and the flag, superimposing them onto NSPM-7's text and, in doing so, asks: "Am I still an artist, or is my art making me a target of NSPM-7?"
